The national archive has surely one of the most breathtaking interiors of Budapest`s famous palaces and also the facades are impressing. It`s a big pity that after the devastation of the second world war, the fantastic tower of the building has never been rebuilt. Here are some pics from the old site of the Archive:

All the staircase and the floors are richly decorated: stained glassed windows from Miksa Róth`s factory (he was word famous in his time), neoromanesque arches and fancy chandeliers on every floor.
Furthermore every single floor represents a historical period of the Country. The first floor represents Hungary`s foundation (about 1000 A.C) and the first centuries....-->
