Kamba or Akamba people belong to the central Bantu tribe, migrated to their present home from Kilimanjaro. They began as hunters who kept some livestock and cultivated the land a little. Fertile soil of the Mbooni region allowed them to settle down and became agriculturally oriented. The Kamba are skilled craftsmen and make both tools and beautiful artwork. Wood craving is a highly developed Kamba skill. Kamba are one of a rare tribes using both male and female circumcision.
