"Packing List" Sweater / Jacket Tip by james_sinton

Sweater / Jacket, San Francisco: 22 reviews and 10 photos

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Ok people, here's your one warning: this is San Francisco, NOT california. Don't be wearing your tank tops and shorts and then complaining at 3pm when the fog rolls in. How many time did I hear 'does it usually get this cold here in the summer?'. The answer is YES! It'll be warm during the day (up until the fog rolls in at 3) and then it's light jacket weather. Please people, just bring something with sleeves for later in the day.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Don't come here expecting to go to the beach. Typical beach wear in SF is a sweater, a windbreaker, a strong hat, pants and shoes.

Miscellaneous: If you leave the city, be warned, it's usually a lot warmer inland (East Bay, Marin, Napa). Wine Country, especially can get downright sweltering in the summer... this is shorts weather kids.
