By night Leicester (for non Brits this is pronounced Lester) Square is one of the busiest spots in London. Street entertainers, this includes both song and political ravings, artists and dancing among a nuimber of other eccentric antics take part in bringing to life and emmiting a buzz you can only but join in with.

Plenty of night clubs, movie houses and theatre ticket stalls, so the choice is yours or just enjoy the rythm of life. Spot the stars as they head to the movie preniers in Leicester Square on a regular basis.

It was only in 1993 that a clean up campaign was brought about as before this time it was an area to avoid, unless you were partial to a little illegal substance, then this was the place to hang down and out in.

Today a copy of the Shakespeare memorial in Westminster Abbey stands in the centre and a statue of Charlie Chaplin looks on from the edge next to busts of Sir Isaac Newton, William Hogarth and Joshua Reynolds - all of whom lived in the area during the 18th century.

Leicester Square is poplular after work for people to meet and enjoy a little relaxation.
