  Epidaurus Theater
by BorneoGrrl

Epidaurus Theater is one of the well preserved and functional amphitheaters in Greece, if not the most famous. The theater was designed by Polykleitos the Younger in the 4th century BC and later extended by the Romans. In July (when I was there), the amphitheater was the venue of the Epidaurus music festival.

Epidaurus is built on the slope of a mountain and seats 15,000 people. Speakers or amplifiers are not required as the theater was designed & built with perfect acoustics, and therefore the audience, be it close to the center or right at the top, are all able to hear the performance clearly

Entrance fee is 6? for adults

Directions: Drive towards Epidaurus and you will see the area with some ruins, and the path that leads to the theater
