"Atlanterhavsveien" Norway Things to Do Tip by Maria_75

Norway Things to Do: 771 reviews and 1,349 photos

The Atlantic Road goes between the island of Averøy and the mainland. The length is 8.274 meters and consists of eight bridges, jumping from one small island to another. In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The road was opened in 1989 and was elected "The construction of the Century" in Norway.

On the many little islands there are restaurants, rorbu, cabins, cafees, places for diving and a lot of excellent places for fishing.

Allthough the road is only 8 km you should really take your time here. Stop in the small islands, take a walk around and most important: take pictures!

This is a beautiful place which you should try to see if you are nearby!
