"Dovrefjell" Norway Things to Do Tip by Maria_75

Norway Things to Do: 771 reviews and 1,349 photos

Dovrefjell is a mountain range in the center of Norway. The main roads and the train between Oslo in the south and Trondheim in the north runs through here. The highest mountain in the region is Snøhetta with 2,286 meters. The photo is of Snøhetta, and was taken in summer.

The area is a national park, and a natural habitat for many rare plants and animals. Including the Europe's last stock of wild reindeer of Beringia origin. There are even musk oxen here! Imported from Greenland in 1932.

The nature in this area is extremely beautiful, and worth a visit all year round.
