I won't lie - the Chiesa di San Barnaba is hardly a big tourist attraction and is unlikely to be in your guidebook. It still caught my imagination, however, when I was wandering through Modena, partly because the great marble statues on the fašade were a sharp contrast to the pinking colour of the church, which is so characteristic of the old part of Modena. Inside San Barnaba you will find exquisite frescoes and religious painting. You have to be careful, however, since this is not a touristy church people come here to pray in quiet and loud tourists are not very welcome.

Address: Via Ruggera and Via Carteria
