"Warm Up at P.S.1 (MoMA Queens)" Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Tip by jlynyc

If you are traveling to NYC in the summer and you're between the ages of 21-35, make a trip out to Warm Up at P.S.1, an art installation in Long Island City. It is a Saturday (only) afternoon dance party located in the outdoor yard of a former public school that now houses art exhibits (part of the MoMA). Famous up and coming DJs spin dance music amid the outdoor installations (including wading pools, a beach and bbq area) and Brooklyn Brewery provides libations ($5...cheaper than your average NYC bar). The line tends to get incredibly long, so get there early and wait for the place to fill up. $10 entry fee. Party lasts from 2-9p when everyone walks the few blocks over to Harry's at Water Taxi Beach, an actual beach (sand imported from the NJ shore) that fronts the East River and affords terrific views of the Manhattan skyline. Take the E, V or 7 train from Manhattan.

Address: 33 Street at Queens Blvd. Long Island City, Queens
Directions: 7 Local train to 33 St., Queens.
Phone: (212) 708-9400
