"Blasket Island Centre" County Kerry Things to Do Tip by vbede

County Kerry Things to Do: 179 reviews and 288 photos

This quiet centre at the end of the Dingle peninsula recounts the story of the now deserted community on the Blasket Islands. In addition to weathering incredible conditions for years (high winds, fog, dark and stormy winters, all cut off from the mainland) this community produced a significant number of fine writers. The lives and works of the people of Innis Blascaod are explored at the centre which is a fine diversion to some of the more tourist-focused areas in Dingle and along the coast.

Address: Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry
