Favorite thing: This shimmering glass tower stands just south of the Union Station "multiplex" at the Chicago River. The use of shiny reflective glass has become an architectural cliche in suburban office parks across America, but here it's use seems justified by the reflective waters. Moreover, the building also "bows" to the river with its own gracious curve.
A notable feature of 300 S. Riverside is that it provides pedestrian access to its ground floor, enabling walkers to continue their stroll along the banks of the Chicago River.
Designed by skidmore Owens & Merrill, 300 S. Riverside opened in 1983.
