"Anne Frank house" Anne Frank House Tip by el_ruso

Anne Frank House, Amsterdam: 243 reviews and 259 photos

Anne Frank became famous after her diary was found and published after the war. She was basically a Jewish teenager whose family was hiding in this house from the Nazis. The house was a wearhouse that belonged to her father and his business partner. There were two other Jewish families that were hiding with them, and their Dutch friends brought them food and news. Unfortunately they were betrayed and sent to the concentration camp, and Anne Frank died just a week before Germany's surrender. Only her father has survived and had her diary published.

Now this house is a very popular museum, and Anne Frank became a symbol of resistance against oppression and anti-semitism.
