Other than engine roars, the nation's automotive capital was capable to sprout different sounds. A young enterprenour, Berry Gordy, in the late 50s had converted his Detroit house into a recording studio and named it "Hitsville USA". It soon became a family-run business where a talent such as Diana Ross was helping as a receptionist, and where Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson (with the Jackson Five) had an explosion of popularity. By the late 60s the Motown had become the largest recording label in the world.
A guided visit to the Motown Historical Museum, located in the original building featuring the "Studio A", is a unique experience not only for the lovers of the Detroit Sound.
