A very traditional Scottish pub, in the best sense of that phrase. Before the smoking ban, it was no fun for non-smokers but that has changed big time.
Last night (23.8.7) I had 20 minutes to "kill" before I collected my son from Scouts, so I walked down the steps towards the harbour. Dusk, with light cloud drifting across the moon, the lights of the ships anchored in the Firth of Forth and the lights of the East Lothian villages on the other side.
One pint of Newcastle Best (a real ale produced by Northumberland Brewery), then back again. Good way to chill at the end of the day.
The pub must be at least 100 years old. Staff and locals friendly. Good selection of real ales which changes every week. Pub brews its own beer as well. Lots of malt whisky to choose from too.

Dress Code: None!

As someone who has never smoked, the smoking ban was an excellent law
