The Cathedral was built in the Gothic style from 1340 - 1500 AD. The church tower (65 m high) was constructed by a Swabian sculptor by the name Hans Lutz von Schussenried (1501 - 1519). The Cathedral is huge and the nave is very high! When we were there there was the organ playing, so this added to a very solemn atmosphere.

Worthwhile seeing are the Romanesque portal, the rose window from 1300, the Fresco of the Madonna with the Child, the Gothic pulpit and the Baroque high altar.

Directions: In the center of Bolzano at Piazza Walther, not to be missed!
