"Must See" Uffizi Gallery - Galleria Degli Uffizi Tip by SJTravel

If you like art at all, The Uffizi is a must see. The Uffizi is one of the best museums of painting and sculptures I have ever been to. There are several famous works of art there including Botticelli's "Birth of Venus." Although, many people I have spoken to were much more in awe of the neighboring painting, Botticelli's The Spring. However, both were exquisite to just be able to have seen. You will see some works by Rubens, Rembrandt, Leonardo, Caravaggio, and many more. There will be several artists interpretations of The Annunciation, The Adoration of the Magi, Madonna and Child. The building itself is absolutely beautiful as well. Some of the rooms are spectacular. They also have a little cafe and outdoor patio. The food and drinks are highly overpriced (compared to outside the museum), however it is nice to be able to have some caffiene because the museum is so big and there is so much to see. The caffiene will give you a second wind...but drink at the bar and it will be cheaper. After your drink, definitely take some time out on the patio and enjoy the view. You will have an interesting view of Palazzo Vechio. The Uffizi has more than 50 rooms of beautiful art. A visit to this museum is a must see. You need a reservation to get in. Or else, you will need to queue in the non-reservation line. A reservation costs 2euros and will give you a specific time to come to the museum. Check the website for current times and costs.
