"36 The Mall" is another great B&B, in a well-renovated lovely old house. It was the first B&B that we saw when driving in direction Montrose centre and were happy they had a vacant room. It's near to the main street with ample parking at the street, and it's a 15 to 20 minutes walk to the nice beach of Montrose (and a good Mexican restaurant).
We just spent one night there and had a spacious room that even had a little fridge. And surprisingly the flush of the toilet was quite fast (I'll never understand why everywhere in Scotland & Irland have such terrible flushes!). The dining room was full with leaflets, brochures and travel guides, really fascinating. It looked like a tourist office! The breakfast was good, with lots of choices, even seefood, which I can hardly imagine to eat as breakfast.
It's not the cheapest B&B, but it was really good. You can pay with credit card, but have to pay an additional charge for this.
