Friday night at South is for people who love indie music with a touch of classic old stuff. This lovely scruffy friendly club has a dedicated following among students and professional alike and has now been entertaining the music lovers of Manchester for over 10 years.
Door staff are really pleasant and chat to you while you queue. Punters are all there for the music, to dance and have fun so it is rare for there to be any bovver or bad behaviour, which creates a great atmosphere.
Friday night has great DJ's and you often get see a well known face at the deck. Music consists of the usual indie and Manc stuff - Stone Roses, Doves, Gossip, Primal Scream, Killers, Kooks, etc plus some real old Stones, Love and Doors classics as well as a few great old good soul classics (note NO wedding music!)
Saturday is also famous for Clint Boon's Disco Rescue - a very popular night.
Best get there before 11 to be sure to get in both nights!
Dress Code: Absolutely anything, but be prepared to get dirty and sweaty as you will be on the dance floor all night!
Address: 4A King Street, Manchester
