"Cowtown" Cowtown Tip by Tanya934

Cowtown, Wichita: 1 reviews and 0 photos

Living history museum set on the outskirts of Wichita KS
Amazing collection of old buildings set in a town setting with people dressed in period costume acting as townsfolk.
Wagon Rides around the town as well as an excellent group playing 'folk' music with violins & banjos.
As you enter the house the residents seem very welcoming and eager to tell you about the home & how the residents would have lived.
Some of the houses showed how they cooked & the type of food they would have prepared whilst others had displays of needlework or woodwork.
The old bar sold Sasparella which seemed to attract the local wasp population but it did not detract from a great afternoon.
Having visited a lot of living history museums worldwide, this definatly rates amongst the better ones & would recoomend it for a visit.
