The Isle of Skye is found at the west coast of Scotland and is the largest of the Inner Hebrides. It's a beautiful island and it's a pity we just did a day trip to Skye. Next time we have to stay longer!
We drove along the Trotternish peninsula and found it very nice there. We couldn't see the Old Man of Storr (a famous rock formation) as the clouds were hanging very low, but we visited the Lealt Falls and the Kilt Rock. At both places there's a car park. At the Lealt Falls there's a path above the little gorge with nice views on the waterfall and the sea with the islands. But more fascinating is the Kilt Rock, 60 m/ 200 ft high cliffs with a small waterfall. Really great there ? only full with tourists! There had been a few tourist busses, the street is good enough for them, only after Portree it was shortly single track. Also somewhere after Kilt Rock it was single track again, and the landscape at the top of the peninsula was beautiful as well. And you can be sure that there?s much more to see on Skye!

Directions: Skye can be reached via the Skye Bridge (no toll anymore) at Kyle of Lochalsh or by ferry from Maillaig to Armadale in the south or from Glenelg to Kylerhea in the east.
