"A glimpse of another culture...." Chinatown Tip by VeronicaG

Chinatown, San Francisco: 183 reviews and 341 photos

China Town's vigorous tempo drew us along its sidewalks teeming with tourists and locals alike. Bright storefronts with exotic looking window displays shouted, "STOP IN!"

I had to look twice before I realized I was seeing a neatly arranged pile of chicken feet in one window, while bins burgeoning with fresh fruit and vegetables were presented in another. (pictures 2 & 3).

Souvenirs could be found everywhere! Our grandson was thrilled with how far his allowance went as he tried out wooden ceremonial swords, plastic num-chucks and the like. On the other hand, I was fascinated by the pagoda style design of some of the buildings, so characteristic of the Chinese culture (picture 4).
