Semmering Warnings and Dangers: 3 reviews and 11 photos

Hiking in Semmering and its surrounding is easy and comfortable in many places, all of the paths inside the village of Semmering are asphalted and mostly you will find your own side-walk / trottoir, while side-streets and small paths through the woods will mostly have at least solid gravel.
Good hiking- or mouintain-shoes are essantial as soon as you start to do the hiking-trail along the Semmering-bahn, explore Rax or Schneeberg etc. It certainly makes sense and is absolutely necessary at some places, where you have to step over slippery rocks or gravel all of a sudden. Many of these paths through the mountains start easy and smooth and all of a sudden it is quite a risk to continue...
Good mountain-shoes will not only have solid soles with a mountain-profile, they will also protect your ancles at un-even surfaces.
