At the bottom of the Palatine lies one of the greatest architectural achievements of all time.
The Colloseum(Amphitheatre of Vespasian). Construction started between 70AD and 72AD and was commissioned by the Emperor Vespasian. Upon his death, the task was continued by his son Titus and was finished in 80AD. It originally housed 50000 spectators who watched games and spectacles right into the 6th century.
