  King John's castle
by Leipzig

Limerick is one of the largest cities of Ireland. The Vikings founded the city in 10th century as a base from which to plunder the surrounding areas. Today you hardly see Vikings here but a stunning castle. King John's castle was built in 12th century and offers visitors today exhibitions showing 800 years of history.
You may have heard the word "Limerick" in literature as a a five-line poem written with one couplet and one triplet. Well, this form was first written here.
