  View from Castle Landshut (Bernkastel-Kues)

The Mosel river is a tributary of the Rhine and a region of great beauty with interesting sights. The river gorge is dotted with vineyards and castle ruins, and along the way - between historic Trier and the rather unimpressive city of Koblenz - are many pretty vine villages such as Traben-Trarbach or Bernkastel-Kues. A hiking path goes parallel to the river through a lovely landscape.

The best view on the Mosel valley - as seen in the photo - is from the castle ruin Burg Landshut above Bernkastel-Kues.
