  Agate Bridge
by Basaic

Over hundreds and thousands of years floods and rain washed away the soft soils in this arroyo leaving behind a 110 foot petrified log as a natural bridge. This formation was named the Agate Bridge. Out of fear that the Agate Bridge would eventually fall, there was first masonry pillars then a concrete support added in the early 1900s. While this does help preserve the formation it also detracts from its natural beauty. The Agate Bridge is located across from the Jasper Forest.
