Anchor Inn on the Bay: "Old-style cottage motel" Greilickville Hotel Tip by RoadMode

A perfect instance of the way motels used to be. The rooms are in cottages. There's plenty of parking in the dirt/gravel lot with easy access to the rooms. There's a nice shady lawn in front of the cottages with picnic tables, and flowers all along where the lawn meets the lot. There's a park of sorts just on the other side of the drive that has swings and things for kids to climb on. The motel has a private beach with chairs and a swing just across the road, which is a nice place to sit and contemplate West Grand Traverse Bay. This place is just right up my alley; highly recommended! Friendly proprietor. The whole place is cozy. I'd have happily stayed longer.

Address: On the left on M 22 a few miles north of Traverse City
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Price: US$40-80
