Jalan Kayu: "Roti Prata: a Singapore original" Singapore Restaurant Tip by heryanta

Singapore Restaurants: 741 reviews and 1,194 photos

If you have never had Roti Prata before you're missing out. It's the Singaporean version of the French crepe - a thin, crispy pancake served warm.
The original version is slightly salty and is normally served with curry, either chicken or mutton.

There are also a lot of varieties: sweet ones with banana, ice cream or chocolate for example.

The best ones are sold from 24 hour small shops along Jalan Kayu (Kayu Road) - it's a little bit out of the way but Singapore is not that large to start with.
The one that is famous is callled Thasevi food shop number 237
