The DB Museum is a must-see for all railfans and it was the main goal of my trip to Nürnberg in 2005. Actually, this building also houses not only the railway museum, but also the Museum von Kommunikation in Nürnberg (the museum of communications) that follows the history of the postal service, of the telephone and other means of communication.
I really recommend visiting both museums, even if you aren't so interested in trains or postal cars. Children may find them interesting, too.
The ticket for the railway museum costs 4 euro for adults, 3 for students and 2 euro for young people until 17 years, but there is a special ticket for a family of two adults with up to four children for just 8 euro. I bought a joint ticket for the two museums at 5 or 6 euro. I think there is also a discount if you show your train ticket to Nürnberg.
Let's have a closer look now!
