"Prison and Execution" Tower of London Tip by grandmaR

I remember going on a Beefeater's tour in 1950, and did not think I needed to go back. But I thought my grandson should see the place and take the tour. I did not remember the huge crowds, but then England was still recovered from WWII and not many people were traveling then.

We missed the last Beefeater tour when we were on the Original Bus tour, so the next day, we took another bus to the Tower, and got there just in time for the next to last Beefeater Tour. I told my grandson to stay with the group, and I would catch up to them when I could. He seemed a little taken aback by the graphic descriptions of the executions, but I found the tour interesting. I didn't remember much of it from 57 years before. Most of my current knowledge comes from the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta "Yeomen of the Guard".

There were exhibits outside the tower showing when various parts of it were built. Some areas were being rebuilt.
