The memorial consists of a pedestal with a soldier on the top in a charge stance and is opposite the railway station. It was erected to honour the ?glorious dead? from 1914 to 1918 during the first world war and `939 to `945 during the second world war. The Anzac ceremony is held at the memorial each year.
