"See Brownwood" Top 5 Page for this destination Texas Things to Do Tip by Basaic

Texas Things to Do: 295 reviews and 712 photos

Brownwood is the county seat of Brown County and has a population of about 20,000.

One thing to do in Brownwood is go to the Brown County Museum of History which has a fine display of the heritage and history of this part of Central Texas, and is located in the old county jail. It is well worth a visit. There is no entrance fee but donations are appreciated. The museum is open on Thursday and Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Also consider a visit to Lake Brownwood State Park.

Address: 212 North Broadway, Brownwood, Texas 76804
Directions: The Brownwood County Museum of History is located in the old Brown County Jail, with an annex across the street.
