When in Chicago in the summer of 2007, I met friends for a devine meal on Devon Avenue, in the heart of the Indian community there. "Tiffin" is a British Empire term for a hearty luncheon, and also the name of one of the best Indian restaurants in the Midwest. Gerald and Janet, Dabs, the MJB13 and myself all gathered there on Friday night for naan, pakoras, tandoori, korma, and daal. Very hearty indeed! Devon is very far north in the city, Dabs had to drive over an hour to get there from her home in Indiana! But it's certainly worth the journey.

Tiffin is a medium-sized restaurant with many comfortable tables and booths, and friendly attentive service. Wine and beer on the menu for those who so choose.
