This is a great way to get to see the sights and get your bearings in Madrid. It's the usual open top tourist bus (in red!) which circles the cities tourist sights. in this case there are two routes... red route (21 stops) for the old town and blue (15 stops) for the more modern side of Madrid. Each route takes about 75 minutes to complete, longer if the traffic is bad.
There are stops all over the city usually adjacent to all the tourist sights and you can hop on and hop off once you've bought your ticket. There is a main ticket kiosk near to the Museo del Prado, however tickets can bought on the bus and at various outlets throughout the city. Tickets can also be bought online too. Prices are about 15-18e a day per adult, 10e a child or 45e for a family. I bought a 2 day ticket for about 20e.
