Viru gates could be called the main gates to the old town. After entrancing Viru gates you get to Viru street - the main dining and shopping street in the old town. Viru gates were built in 1345-1355, but nowadays not all structure of these gates survived.

The first sight when leaving old town through Viru gates is famous soviet looking (but modernized) Viru hotel and all main stops of Tallinn's trams and buses.

Address: Viru str.
Directions: Walk towards St. Olaf's along Lai and take a left down Suur-Kloostri. The entrance to the walkway is on the left side of the gate.
