"Garfield park Conservatory" Chicago Things to Do Tip by dlandt

This tip won't entertain all that many people, but for those who appreciate plants and art, there is the Garfield Park Conservatory. Tucked in behind the west side ghettos and adjacent to the green line's "Conservatory" stop, the conservatory is a Chicago landmark. The facility consists of eight interconnected rooms and a large outdoor garden. Usually, some artist is featured. In my fotos, this artist is Niki de Saint Phalle and her exhibit is called "Niki in the Garden". They also have "Music in the Garden" nights.

Of the rooms here, I found the desert room to be the most interesting, but they have several others. Entry is free with a suggested donation. Be out of this neighborhood before dark, just to be on the safe side.
