"Myrtos Beach" Cefalonia Island Off The Beaten Path Tip by clivedinburgh
Cefalonia Island Off The Beaten Path: 7 reviews and 17 photos
I wasn't sure this qualifies as off the beaten path but it just seemed so quiet and idyllic that I thought is sat well here. The road to the beach is signposted in typical fashion that if you were not looking that you'd drive straight by. An incredibly steep road then takes you down the gully and eventually starts to zig-zig down to the beach.
Once there, you'll find plenty of parking, a taverna, showers, toilets and even some sun loungers for hire. We were content to lie on the pebbles just to be near the sea but there is a sand bar further up the beach. Then it's a case of relaxing and taking in the views with the occasional swim out to the marker buoys. There are lifeguards on duty and the beach is very well rated by Blue Flag as one of the best in the Med.
Apologies for the poor pics but my camera battery died whilst there but the pebble pic is quite good.
