"visit Northampton Park" Adams Basin Things to Do Tip by davecallahan
Adams Basin Things to Do: 1 reviews and 5 photos
This is a multi-facility park: picnicking areas; hiking/birding trails; walking/jogging paths; ski-lodge for winter; horse-riding; one part is used for flying radio-controlled miniature planes.
There are recreational fields and kids playgrounds. Each section of the park has restroom facilities (some of which are handicap-access).
Knollwood Lodge is rentable (see website for details) and has stove and refrigerator, fireplace and grill. Other picnicking areas are open and some have grills and tables but others require you to supply your own equipment.
Attached to one end of the park is Springdale Farm: a demonstration farm and petting zoo.
The park is rolling hills and forested areas; you pick the type of scenery that bests suits you.
Just bring a blanket and layout in the sun or bring some friends and play frisbee.
Birdwatching is fairly good in this park in the spring and fall but you must have proper footwear because the grounds where the birds are tend to be boggy.
Address: 304 Salmon Creek Road
Directions: along route 31 and route 36
