Upper Pierce – MacRitchie Reservoir Park Connector (10)
The Jelutong observation Tower is 0,5 kilometer or so walk from Petaling Hut.
Opened in 2003 primarily to enhance nature appreciation of residents - to be read as: “how to keep Singaporeans out of the shopping malls for one day”, it is 7 storey high and the top floor is at 22 meters. It offers an interesting view of the several tiers of the canopy surrounding it, and also provide some distant views over the MacRitchie Reservoir and the Golf Course.
A major attraction is also the breeze that provides such wellness after challenging the trails in the steamy forest behind!
From the Tower you can go in 2 directions, East (right) or West (left) around the Golf Course. In respect of this tip series, I recommend the trail heading West called the Golf Link – edging the Reservoir -; the other route takes you out of the Reserve and involves 2-3 km of tarmac road.
note: this tower is infested by bold monkeys, take special care of your posessions!
