Ferry Boat Inn: "Ferry Boat Inn - traditional pub" Felixstowe Restaurant Tip by sue_stone
Felixstowe Restaurants: 3 reviews and 4 photos
The Ferry Boat Inn is a cool old pub located close to the ferry terminal at the northern end of Felixstowe. It dates back to the 15th century, and has lovely flagstone floors, low ceilings and a wood burning stove. The walls are lined with old photos and drawings of days gone by.
Make sure you check out the plaque showing the flood levels over the years - one year the water came up to the top of the bar!
Favorite Dish: The FBI (as the locals call it) has a good selection of beers, and reportedly serves up some decent food as well.
We popped in there for a drink one afternoon, after a long walk by the sea. We sat inside and enjoyed the old world atmosphere. There are also tables outside, wind permitting.
Address: By the Ferry, Felixstowe, Suffolk, IP11 9RZ
Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: On the Deben Estuary side of Felixstowe (north) follow signs to the golf club and keep going to the end of the road to the ferry.
