The Jewish Museum is a well-organized collection describing the history of Jewish communities in Greece from their speculated arrival in the third century BC to the Holocaust and post-genocide communities in Greece. The basement of the museum has a recreated synagogue and an interesting collection of photographs and artefacts from the various synagogues throughout Greece. The upper floors are not chronologically organized but rather thematic, with exhibits on Greek Jewish customs, dress and eventually participation in the national liberation movement, partisans and the destruction of the community by the Nazis.
