"Decent hotel in good location" Apsis Gran Ronda Hotel Barcelona Tip by SueWarwick

The hotel room was simple but clean and big enough for two of us.
The room has a modern design with LCD television with a small selection of chanels and free wi-fi internet access (contact reception for username and password)
There is a small selection of shower gels, soap and shampoo in the bathroom.
My room over looked the back of other apartments but at least I had a window - some rooms have no natural light and the only window in the room over looks the foyer and lifts. On the other hand, apparently some rooms are a lot bigger than mine and have a balcony. I imagine it is just pot luck which room you get!
Rooms are air-conditioned and have a safe.
If windows are closed, it is fairly quiet at night, just the occasional noise from within the hotel.

Unique Qualities: The hotel is in a great location, a short walk from the metro, Las Ramblas etc.
Breakfasts are good - fresh orange juice, coffee, ham, cheese, cakes, bread, cereals, yogurts and fresh fruit.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Doors can be awkward to open but keep trying (tip - magnetic strip goes closest away from you and be gentle!)

Directions: From placa Catalunya head towards the university area. It is then a short walk from Ronda Sant Antoni - on the right hand side of the road just past a small square.
It is very close to Universitat Metro stop.
