Exmouth Things to Do: 37 reviews and 79 photos

Vlaminghead Lighthouse is on a rocky point close to the Cape range Park and offers a wonderful view over the surrounding area.
It is the only lighthouse in Australia that burns kerosene (parrafin).
The wreckage in the photo is from WW2, it's too expensive to take it away.

The road up the the lighthouse is very steep with a sharp bend and precipitous drop at the steepest point, if you are nervous of such things you may wish to give it a miss!

There is a very popular caravan park just below it which also has a shop, petrol pumps and a shell museum.

In the bay nearest the lighthouse, Mildura Bay, the wreck of the SS Mildura can be seen very close to the shore.

On the way to the lighthouse, you will pass the huge communication towers which are used by both the American and Australian Navies to communicate with their submarines.

Directions: The lighthouse is 20 mins drive south from Emouth on the way to The Cape Range Park, you can't miss it, it's visible for a long distance and there's only one road.

To see the wreck of the SS Mildura, turn off the main road at Mildura road.
