"Bodrum Power: Electricity" Top 5 Page for this destination Bodrum Favorite Tip by Lyndra

Bodrum General: 68 reviews and 60 photos

Favorite thing: Electricity in Bodrum and large areas of Turkey is generated by solar energy - what else in a country with so much sun!! However this can lead to a certain degree of unreliability (usually when you have just switched on a hair dryer I find!!) and power outages are an occassional event. When these happen many bars and restaurants have candles and lamps at the ready so that you can continue with your evening and soak up a different ambience! The power cuts rarely last longer than 5 - 15mins.
Power in Turkey is 220v and you will need to bring 2 pin travel adaptors from the UK to be able to use your electrical appliances here. Beware the wobbly sockets that seem to come as standard in many hotel rooms!
