"Horse Riding in Golden Bay" Malta Things to Do Tip by Theocat

Malta Things to Do: 107 reviews and 267 photos

Head to Golden Bay - very easy in a car, just as easy on the bus. On the way there, just before you can see the beach/sea, you'll see a slightly dilapidated set of buildings on your right. Pull the string and the driver will let you off (chances are other people will be heading this way as well and will also get off - you can walk to the stables from the beach, it's not that far, but the drivers don't mind stopping so don't be afraid).

The people are nice and quite relaxed, and it's a good way to see a little more of Malta and Golden Bay. They take you up onto the cliffs and around, you can see down onto the beach and across the ocean to the horizon. It's nice and breezy too.

Words of warning: Don't exaggerate your abilty to ride. If you've only ever been on a donkey in Blackpool, then say so - because you'll get a horse to suit your ability. Unlike other foreign riding stables, the horses here aren't all safe and stable and suitable for everyone. I've been riding for years and was happy enough with the horse I was given - a pretty grey thing that was very nervy and didn't like other horses - but he was certainly a challenge to ride. Be honest about your ability and you'll have a lovely time.

Price = 6ML per person, for an hour
