If you happen to be in Braga in June, you may enjoy a week of celebrations in honour to Saint John ( Festas de São João). 24th June is the local holiday in Braga and the most important day of the feast.
The "cabeçudos" and "gigantones" (giant puppet heads worn by dancers) accompanied by the deafening beat of the drums welcomes the dawn visitors in the feasts.
