"Ouazazarte" Morocco Things to Do Tip by barryg23

Ouazazarte felt like a strange place to us and differed greatly from most other places we had visited. Perhaps this feeling came from the face we'd spent the previous week in small, quiet towns with few tourists.
Ouazazarte was initially built during the French protectorate and developed following the completion of the Tizi n' Tichka pass over the Atlas, a pass which made the journey to or from Marrakech much easier. The streets look French, any of the signs are in French and if the buildings weren’t the same pink/orange colour as Marrakech you might well thing you’re in France.
There isn’t a whole lot to see in town though the Glaoui Kasbah on the southern edge of town is worth a visit. There’s a useful supermarket on the main street where, if your heading south or, east, you’ll have one last chance to buy alcohol for and other comforts for those long nights in the desert.
