"The Cathedral" Lublin Things to Do Tip by evaanna
Lublin Things to Do: 104 reviews and 171 photos
Built in the years 1586-1604, the Lublin Cathedral is one of the earliest churches representing the baroque outside Italy, and the first one of this kind in Poland. It was designed by Giovanni Maria Barnardoni and Giuseppe Brizio. The beautiful colourful frescoes covering the walls and vaulting were painted by Jozef Mayer in 1757-58.
When you visit the place, don't miss the acoustic sachristy, 28 metres in diameter, where the sound carries so well that a message whispered with your face to the wall carries to the other end of the room.
