The People`s Hall (Polish - Hala Ludowa, German - Jahrhunderthalle) is called too The Centennial Hall. It is is one of the thirteen historical monuments of Poland registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List (2006). It was built (the architect - Max Berg) in 1911-1913 for the World Exhibition of 1913 held to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the battle of Leipzig. At this time the cupola was the largest building of its kind. It have the inner diameter of 69 m and is 42 m high. The architectonical style is called reinforced concrete. In the front of this hall there you can see the 96 m high metal needle, wich was the" gift from the Soviet people".
