Flames: "More kebabs near Paddington Station" Flames Kebabs, Paddington - CLOSED Tip by Dabs

Last visit January 2008

I've eaten here several times now, it is very convenient to Paddington Station and to Edgware Road where I stayed at the Hilton Metropole. There is no seating inside so you can either take it to a local park to eat it or in our case back to the hotel. Be sure to grab plenty of napkins as it can be messy. There's a small park with benches on Sussex Gardens Rd., one block to the south of Praed Street, turn right on Sussex Gardens and you should see it.

Favorite Dish: The chicken shawarma sandwich here was very good, the small was plenty for me and very reasonably priced at L2.70. Chicken shawarma is kind of like a gyro except it's made with chicken, instead of lamb, that has been seasoned with sweet spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg and roasted on a spit. The chicken is served in a pita with your choice of toppings. Chili sauce is too spicy for me so I go for the tahini sauce (sesame paste) and lettuce, onion and tomato.
